RECYCLED VALUE CHAIN INITIATIVE
This is an initiative that promotes and supports environmental art/artists and the environment. We have created a value chain through a demand and supply process. Environmental artists work directly with the environment and utilize products found within the environment, we promote artists that recycle waste and turn them into amazing art pieces and this in turn supports their suppliers with income, health benefits and educational support. Artists use dead trees, bottles and cans, tires and dumped plastics to create these pieces in mixed media form. The creative process for one piece of art equals income for two to four families. Our beneficiaries are women who clean the roads, homeless men who pick through garbage to orphaned kids that roam the streets. This is our way of creating jobs and supporting adult education through environmental art.
THE ONE-FOR-ONE PROGRAMME (CACT CREATIVE CLUB)
This is a club for children and young adults. We understand that kids learn best through activities that engage their curiosity and creativity. Science, math, engineering and art skills are taught in the most expressive fashion. We put smiles on the faces of children while developing their brains and motor functions without creative limits. Proceeds are used to buy art supplies and provide scholarships to train underprivileged children within the creative club. Most beneficiaries come from our Recycled Value Chain Initiative.
THE CREATIVE CLAN
The Creative Clan is a community for artists and budding artists with the aim to produce a platform for expression, mentorship, learning and support opportunities in Nigeria. Our mentorship program connects ambitious creative talent with inspiring experienced leaders within the creative community in a very friendly manner. The members of our creative also give back by teaching at the Creative Club and donating pieces for fundraisers
NEVER TOO LATE INITIATIVE
We believe that it can never be too late to become creative. We support adult skill acquisition and entrepreneurship training in conjunction with AYAHAY Foundation. Adults build up creative skills and also understand what it takes to earn a living with the skills acquired through entrepreneurship programmes. We encourage them to have fun while learning it creates a world to escape everyday stress. It’s never too late to have fun either.
OUR NEW EXPRESSION (ONE)
Our New Expression is an annual calendar of celebrations that include events expressing Art, Photography, Film & theatre, Literature and many more. ONE is not a singular show, but a movement towards unity that will culminate in a gathering on the October 1 of every year to mark Nigeria’s Independence Day. It is our number ONE platform to come together as one as Nigerians to show the world that there is unity in diversity through our art and culture. We shall express ourselves in public places, intimate gatherings and cinema halls amongst others. ONE began in 2016 with the support of ‘ONE ENVIRONMENT’ a collaboration with the Environmental Art collective in Abuja, Nigeria.
ART FOR SCHOOL FUND
This initiative is set to create scholarship opportunities for the underprivileged. CACT sells artistic merchandise and art pieces on behalf of member artists and proceeds will be sent to the Art for School Fund of which creative individuals may apply to receive educational scholarships and creative grants. We believe that for the creative industry in Nigeria to grow we must plant seeds. The fund will begin in 2017.
